About Hannah Hawkins-Cunningham
- As a law student, Hannah worked in the criminal defense and wrongful conviction clinics at the Indiana University School of Law where she advocated for clients charged with both misdemeanors and felonies. In these clinics, she helped with depositions, client conferences, hearings and trials. She also assembled crucial research pertinent to crime scene investigations, created exhibits and successfully petitioned the conviction integrity unit to review client convictions.
- During her tenure at Indiana University, Hannah received graduate certificates in both advocacy skills and civil and human rights. She further developed her criminal defense skills by working in a criminal court in Marion County, Indianapolis. In this capacity, she reviewed court documents, pleadings, motions, and court orders. Her exceptional legal abilities were acknowledged when she was awarded the prestigious Order of the Barristers and served as an Associate Justice on the Robert H. Staton Moot Court Board.
- Hannah’s dedication to criminal law led her to become a public defender in Jourdanton, TX. In this role, she managed felony and misdemeanor cases across four counties and represented clients from intake to resolution. Hannah later worked as a litigation associate at one of the largest personal injury firms in Texas where she litigated cases from inception to settlement, allowing her to refine her negotiation and litigation skills.
- As a valued member of the Austin Hagee Law Firm, Hannah showcases her true passion: criminal law. Her extensive experience, dedication to justice, and commitment to clients’ rights make her a valued member of the firm’s dynamic legal team.
- When Hannah isn’t working, she and her husband enjoy playing tennis, traveling, and spoiling their chihuahua, Lenny.
